Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a process which removes stains on the enamel (surface) of teeth.
There are many ways to conduct this process:
Take-home kits
The take-home kits are custom-fitted trays that you wear over your teeth. The trays use a solution to help whiten your teeth more dramatically. Following your appointment, you will receive instructions on how to use the trays properly.
Results are usually seen on the first night of use. Maximum results generally occur when the process is continued for 10 to 14 nights. There may be some tooth sensitivity following the treatment, but the symptoms tend to disappear within 1 to 3 days after interruption or completion of the treatment.
The shade of your teeth will be whiter than it was before treatment. Due to lifestyle choices some patients may require periodic re-bleaching for 2 nights every 6 to 12 months.
In-office teeth whitening
In-office teeth whitening is a procedure performed in our office. A whitening lamp is used to enhance the effects of a rubbed on gel. This whitening gel helps make your teeth 5 to 10 shades whiter. The procedure normally takes up to 45 minutes to complete.
Am I a candidate?
There are many considerations to look at when it comes to teeth whitening, so we recommend to schedule an appointment and talk to one of our doctors to see what method is right for you.
